adidas Golf Releases Fourth Episode of Innovations Video Series

PGA Tour Professional Jason Day and Sport Science Host John Brenkus Return to the Lab to Examine How Extreme Heat Affects a Golfer's Performance

(Carlsbad, Calif.) – adidas Golf, an industry leader in innovation, technology and performance footwear and apparel, has announced the release of the fourth episode in the “adidas Golf Innovations” video series. In the latest episode, adidas Golf Tour staff professional Jason Day partakes in a variety of controlled experiments to explore how extreme heat plays a direct role in affecting a golfer's level of fatigue and comfort.

To visually exhibit how proper apparel can affect a golfer while enduring high temperatures, Day’s performance was evaluated while wearing traditional golf apparel and then again in climachill apparel, each after participating in a succession of scientific tests following exposure to extreme heat. Featuring the most breathable material ever created by adidas Golf, climachill apparel incorporates small aluminum dots inside the back neck to deliver a cooling sensation upon contact with the skin at one of the warmest areas on the human body.

Brenkus, six-time Emmy Award winner, creator of "Sport Science" and New York Times best-selling author of "The Perfection Point", hosts the series that brings the science behind each innovation to life. Tested both with and without the new apparel and footwear for consistency and accuracy, the performance of our Tour athletes captured in the series is closely measured and compared by highly advanced data capturing tools and is presented graphically through a series of unique and engaging videos – one for each of the six key technologies to be unveiled by adidas Golf throughout 2014.
