(MIAMI) - Club Med Sandpiper Bay - the only all-inclusive family resort in the United States - is proud to announce recent improvements to its 18-hole golf course, including a completely remodeled driving range, practice green and short game facility.
Boasting 25 years of experience in the golf course management field in more than 300 golf facilities in three countries, Championship Golf Course Services (CGCS) now oversees maintenance, upgrades and landscaping of the golf course at Sandpiper Bay. This upgrade is part one of the greater initiative to enhance the golf facilities and experience at Sandpiper Bay. Additional upgrades are in store for the new clubhouse scheduled to open Dec. 20, 2011, featuring a new lounge, retail space, club fitting, video analysis and indoor training facility.
In an effort to improve the elite Golf Academy at Club Med Sandpiper Bay, Club Med has engaged an aggressive treatment plan under the direction of CGCS. All course greens have been replenished with Tifdwarf Sod, and a fertilization program has been implemented to maintain the lush greens, trees, bunker edges and slopes. Trap and bunker sand has been replenished to improve quality, play and aesthetics.
The Club Med Golf Academy is powered by Brad Brewer, the Golf Channel's lead online instructor and protege of golf legend Arnold Palmer, and Don Law, award-winning Junior golf instructor and founder and director of one of the largest junior programs in the U.S. The Brewer and Law methodology applies two key elements - balance and momentum - in order to spark the maximum growth potential in the unique, high performance individual committed to being a competitive athlete through every stage of junior, amateur and professional development. The Academy also features esteemed coach Marie-Clair De Bortoli, a LPGA Master professional. Golfers also have access to a personalized golf concierge service that facilitates access to 15 private and public world-class golf courses including the PGA Ryder Course.
