GOLFZON to Launch Largest Virtual Golf Tournament in the Western Hemisphere

2021 GOLFZON North American Tournament Offers $12,000 Prize Pool

(STERLING, Va.) — GOLFZON – the world leader in golf simulator market share – will host the 2021 GOLFZON North American Tournament sponsored by Volvik from March 20 through April 25.

It will be the largest virtual golf tournament in the western hemisphere and will be available to any home or commercial facility with GOLFZON Vision software. The competition will run on GOLFZON Live Festival (GLF) gameplay mode and be played on PGA National’s Champion Course. Each player must complete at least one 18-hole round during the tournament period and can submit as many rounds as they please.

GOLFZON has enlisted 36 commercial facilities across the U.S., Canada and Mexico to participate and estimates 7,000 rounds will be played during the span of the event. Golfers will compete for 27 individual prizes totaling $12,000. The grand prize winner of the tournament will earn a $2,000 gift card and custom GOLFZON blazer.

GOLFZON provides the most technologically advanced indoor golf simulators in the world and has been recognized by Golf Digest as the best golf simulator from 2017 through 2020. Unique features include a patented eight-way hydraulic swing plate with 360 degrees of directional movement to adjust to any lie, an auto-tee feature and multi-surface hitting mats including fairway, rough and bunker.

“This is a momentous occasion for GOLFZON America as we continue to host competitive events with our cutting-edge technology in North America,” says Tommy Lim, CEO of GOLFZON America. “Through this tournament, we want to bring golfers together across the continent to compete in competitive and rewarding GOLFZON tournaments.”

The first two days of the tournament will coincide with the PGA Tour’s The Honda Classic (March 18 – 21), also being contested on PGA National’s Champion Course. Golfers will have the unique chance to play the same course virtually at the same time as professionals competing on Tour.

“The GOLFZON North American Tournament is perfectly suited for players of all skill levels,” says Ben Mackey, general manager of ZSTRICT, a facility in Stamford, Conn with 10 GOLFZON simulators. “This technology paired with a variety of prize opportunities really fires up our local golfers. I can’t think of another company that puts on a tournament of this scale- and our customers notice that.”

In order to be eligible, participants must create an account on www.global.golfzon.com, and agree to the GOLFZON website terms and conditions and privacy policy. Golfers interested in competing can visit the tournament website for more information, including a list of participating facilities.
