Patriot Golf Day Kick-Off with President George W. Bush

For the seventh consecutive year, thousands of PGA Professionals and USGA members are participating in Patriot Golf Day this Labor Day Weekend (August 30-Sept. 2) collecting donations and raising awareness for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a national non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships and other assistance to the families of service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.

More than 4,900 golf facilities across the country are registered to participate in Patriot Golf Day. Visit  PatriotGolfDay.com to find a participating facility near you.

There are more than one million dependents of fallen and wounded military service men and women from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts alone and 87 percent do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance (as of January 2012). The Folds of Honor Foundation wants to help ensure that no family is left behind in the field of battle, making sure that we honor their sacrifice and educate their legacy.

Below are photos from this morning's official kickoff of Patriot Golf Day with President George W. Bush, honorary chairman, Major Dan Rooney, PGA, creator of Patriot Golf Day, Wesley, Ryann and Ellie Bauguess, Lee Trevino and FOX & Friends host Brian Kilmeade.  Ryann and Ellie are Folds of Honor scholarship recipients.
