John Ashworth Will Walk, Play 108 Golf Holes to Raise Awareness, Dunds for 'Feeding San Diego'

Ashworth’s golfing marathon will provide food assistance throughout the community of San Diego

(OCEANSIDE, Calif.) – John Ashworth, golf apparel innovator as well as Co-Founder and President of Linksoul, has pledged to walk and complete 108 golf holes at the Goat Hill Park Golf Course in Oceanside on Monday, June 29th. His quest is to raise money for the non-profit organization — Feeding San Diego. The leading hunger relief and food rescue establishment in San Diego.

Ashworth annually takes on the 108 golf hole challenge to raise money for the North County Junior Golf Association (NCJGA) Caddie and Leadership Academy but due to the pandemic their schedule was greatly reduced, so he sought out another non-profit that could benefit from his journey. San Diego has seen a 50% increase in hunger. One in eight people in San Diego County, including one in six children, face hunger. So, he decided to help his own community.

“I am attempting to raise $25,000 or enough money for 100,000 healthy meals. One dollar makes four healthy meals. Please join me and support this effort by donating an amount per hole. Possibly add incentives for birdies, eagles, and aces. Or if it is easier, a flat amount is appreciated, and no amount is too small,” said Ashworth.

Now, due to school and business closures, job losses, rising food costs, disruptions to the food supply and economic instability, food assistance is more important than ever.
