High Heat 257+ Breakthrough Technology Honored by Golf Talk Live Radio

(BONITA, CA) – The honors and accolades continue to flow in for Knuth Golf’s High Heat 257+ family of metalwoods with the breakthrough 3-trampoline technology, launched at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show.

The latest honor comes from the award-winning Golf Talk Live radio show in Philadelphia, which named High Head 257+ driver, fairways woods and hybrids as April Product of the Month.

The new High Heat 257+ is the only brand that takes advantage of a USGA rules change two years ago. The 2016 CT rule (Characteristic Time—trampoline effect) regulates the amount of time that a ball stays on the face of the club in microseconds, which controls how “hot” a clubface can be.  With this change the USGA permitted a golf face to be much hotter with a CT above 257 and up to 275, but only in the large toe and heel areas.

Award-winning designer Dean Knuth figured out a way to incorporate the now-conforming extra trampoline effect into the toe and heel that is higher than in the middle of the face of the already successful and popular line of High Heat driver and metalwoods. He did so with High Heat’s 3-Trampoline Technology that results in CT higher than 257 in the large toe and heel areas.

High Heat is the only brand in the market that offers this 3-Trampoline Technology, the significance of which can not be overstated. Amateurs on average hit 50 percent of their shots in the toe and heel areas, resulting in a loss of 20 or more yards because of the very low CT. But with higher CT in the toe and heel areas of the High Heat 257+ driver and metalwoods, amateurs obtain the same distance as they do when they hit the center of the face.

Golf Talk Live show host Tony Leodora noticed the change while testing the clubs at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show.

“After hitting the High Heat 257+ line of clubs back in January, I said 'oh my G-d' with utter amazement," said Leodora. "With its three-trampoline technology, amateurs will get increased distance on toe and heel hits with the feel of a center hit and more confidence, which is why High Heat continues to be the leading brand in properly addressing the hitting needs of the amateur golfer."

In announcing the award, Golf Talk Live added: “ The High Heat 257+ 3-trampoline technology, which was the “best new technology” at mirror face v1the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show, also gained driver and metalwoods “best” honors after extensive testing on Demo Day by the golf media and industry professionals.

His ability to bring this technology to fruition will certainly solidify Knuth’s reputation as one of the golf industry’s brightest minds. His early High Heat designs were ahead of all major brands incorporating a much lower and much deeper CG, for which he was the only club designer honored by Golf Inc. magazine as an “Innovator In Player Development” in 2016. And during his USGA days he created the USGA's Course Rating and Slope Rating System used in handicapping, which Golf Digest stated was one of the eight most important technologies in the past 50 years.

“Most amateur golfers struggle to hit the center of the clubface consistently,” said Knuth, former USGA Senior Director. “It was with that thought in mind that we created our first High Heat clubs. Now, with this new 3-trampoline technology, amateur golfers will have an even bigger advantage when playing High Heat.”
