Honours Golf to Manage Calvert Crossings

(Birmingham, Ala.) – Honours Golf, the premier golf management company in the Southeastern United States, has been selected to provide club management and agronomic services for Calvert Crossing, a private club located in Calhoun, a suburb of Monroe, La.

Calvert Crossing is a private country club located in the Calvert Estates community.  At the center of the club, is the 18-hole championship golf course co-designed by John Floyd (who worked under Jack Nicklaus) and Bill Zimmerebner.  This modern design, carved throughout the rolling hills of the West Ouachita Parish region, is considered by many as a beautiful and peaceful “walk in the woods.”  The manicured fairways are lined with towering and mature hardwoods and pine trees and the undulating greens provide a variety of hole locations. It’s a shot maker’s course, so strategy and accuracy are key.  Calvert Crossing is also the only club in the region that offers two sets of tees for junior golfers.

“We selected Honours based on their solid reputation in the Southeast and our own personal experiences we had at their Gulf Shores properties - Peninsula and Craft Farms,” said Todd Perry, a partner of Calvert Crossing.  “We look forward to all the enhancements they will make to help us elevate our members’ experience including priority access to the Honours and Troon network of properties world-wide.”

In addition to golf, Calvert Crossing offers a fully stocked golf shop and a warm and inviting pub-style restaurant featuring specialty salads, freshly-prepared burgers and sandwiches, and weekly Sunday brunches.  The banquet facility hosts special events ranging from weddings and holiday parties to business luncheons and political rallies.  The club also offers two hard-surface tennis courts and an outdoor swimming facility.

“We are proud to be given the opportunity to manage Calvert Crossing and are excited about adding another course to our portfolio of managed properties within the Southeast,” said Bob Barrett, chief executive officer of Honours Golf. “We are committed to enhancing the overall club experience and confident that our operational services and agronomic practices will take Calvert Crossing to the next level.”

Members have full access to the club amenities, programs and array of social and golf events.  As an Honours affiliate club, members of Calvert Crossing now have reciprocal privileges at Honours Golf and Troon managed resort and daily-fee clubs throughout the world.  The club is currently accepting applications for membership.
