The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club's Apple Tree Learning Center, Training Facilities Honored by GRAA

(Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.)
– The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club has been awarded “Top 50” recognition in the private club category by the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA).

The Apple Tree Learning Center is a state-of-the-art teaching facility open year-round for practice and professional instruction.  The Center features three hitting bays, each equipped with the most advanced golf teaching technology available. The putting instruction area employs SAM PuttLab technology, widely recognized as the most advanced and comprehensive putt training system.

“When our Board approved building The Apple Tree Learning Center we were committed to making our golf training facilities world class,” said Vik Atal, President, The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club.  “This recognition affirms our vision and confirms that the objective set out by the Board has been achieved.”

Conveniently located across the club grounds, the Saint Andrew’s golf training campus provides five specialized game-improvement areas. A two-tiered, long-game practice area features target greens, fairway bunkers, and 30-plus hitting sites. Adjacent to the long-game practice area is a unique uneven lies practice and teaching area.  Behind it is a dedicated short-game practice area designed to accommodate approach shots of 50 yards or less.  A second short-game practice area, designed to replicate the steep side-hill lies that guard most of the greens on the golf course, is dedicated to chipping and sand game practice. A large, two-tiered putting green adjacent to the clubhouse offers both regulation-size cups and a small-hole practice area for golfers focusing on their putting prowess.

“We’re gratified to have been selected by the GRAA as one of the country’s top 50 ranges,” said head golf professional Gregory Bisconti, PGA.  “Our membership has fully embraced our expanded training facilities and, especially during the winter season, fully utilizes the Learning Center.”

America's oldest golf club and founding member of the USGA, The Saint Andrew's Golf Club is one of golf's venerated historical venues. Only 20 miles from New York City, members and their guests enjoy the game in a spectacular setting and play one of the area's best-conditioned and exciting layouts — a challenging par-71 golf course, redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1983.
