Agustin Pizá Scheduled to Speak at the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association’s Conference

Pizá will present his methods and techniques to maximize creativity

(SAN DIEGO, CA) – Pizá Golf, internationally recognized as a world-class architecture and golf course design firm, confirmed today that company Founder and Principal Architect, Agustin Pizá, will lead a 45-minute session titled “Golf Course Architecture – Doing Outside-of-the-Box.” His virtual presentation for the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association’s ‘Continue to Learn’ conference is slated for Tuesday, January 26th from 1:15pm to 2:00pm (UK).

“In 2003 when I was studying for my Master’s Degree in Golf Course Architecture at the Edinburgh University, I had a student membership with BIGGA, now 18-years later I have the honour to present to this esteemed group,” said Pizá.

Due to the ongoing complications of the worldwide pandemic, the BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) was postponed and replaced with a virtual two-week online learning conference. BIGGA’s Learning and Development team has developed an online event specifically for members of the sports turf profession.

The Continue to Learn Educational agenda is separated into two specific segments. The Conference will take place from January 19th through January 21st. The Classes will be held from January 25th to January 29th. The “Golf Course Architecture – Doing Outside-of-the-Box” presentation by Pizá will be held during the first week and is a virtual session that will be presented “Live on Air.”

“Presenting ‘live’ is exciting and I look forward to it. My goal is to encourage attendees to unlearn and create a critical thinking approach to their professional life; to take risks and produce ‘Out-of-the-Box’ options and solutions for new golf course designs or renovation challenges,” added Pizá.

Pizá will share how he taken a standard renovation and elevated an entire project by implementing his “Reassessment Techniques.” He will provide samples and case studies based on his “What If?” approach and designs for the inclusion of new and non-golfers. These and other techniques will be shared.

Agustin Pizá is an award-winning architect with over two decades of experience. He has a Masters in Golf Course Architecture from Edinburgh University in Scotland and is a member of the European Institute and American Society of Golf Course Architects. He was recently included in Golf Inc.’s Power Issue as an “Up and Coming Superstar” in golf and Forbes named him one of the Top-100 creative minds from Mexico.
