Maryland's Links at Perry Cabin Featured in May Episode of Traveling Golfer

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) - Combine the stunning Eastern Shore of Maryland with the design artistry of legendary architect Pete Dye and the net result is one of the most memorable stay-and-play golf destinations in the country.

Debuting just in time for the summer season, the Links at Perry Cabin is the latest Pete Dye masterpiece and joins the fabled Inn at Perry Cabin as the Chesapeake Bay's new shining light in the historic town of St. Michaels.

The great golf, the luxurious accommodations and the charm of St. Michaels are the focus of the May episode of the award-winning Traveling Golfer television show.

The May episode runs throughout the month on the Traveling Golfer network of websites ... including The Golf Director Network (see full list of sites on travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air on Monday, May 14 as part of the Press Box television show in Myrtle Beach, 5 to 7 p.m. on HTC Ch. 4. The Traveling Golfer also airs as a scheduled weekly feature show on NBC Sports and NBC Sports + throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. NBC Sports airings are 10:30 a.m. Sundays, 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and 11 a.m. Thursdays. NBC Sports + airs the show at 6 p.m. Mondays and Fridays.

"I first started coming to the Chesapeake Bay and the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the early '80s," explains Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora. "Sailing was the main attraction because there just wasn't much good golf in the area. Since then, a couple of good golf courses have popped up ... but, finally, there is great golf. While the course is still in its infancy, no doubt it will mature into an attraction that will serve as the perfect complement to the spectacular Inn at Perry Cabin."

The new layout is the latest in the 56-year design career of Dye, who is credited with some of the most famous golf courses in America. It is available for play by club members, as well as guests at the Inn at Perry Cabin.

Although all of the course is quite memorable, first-time golfers will come away with a couple of indelible impressions of the Links at Perry Cabin. The first is the green on the seventh hole - a "Biarritz" green - with a huge saddle in the middle of it. The second, and lasting stunner, is the collection of holes coined "The Goodnight Kiss" - a short par 4 16th, an island-green par 3 17th and the dramatic 18th.

"This project took quite a few years to make it to completion," says John Mlynarski, director of golf at the Links at Perry Cabin. "That's because we wanted to make sure we got it right. With the Dye and Perry Cabin names attached to this project, there was a lot of pressure to produce something of the highest quality. We honestly believe we did that."

As part of every Traveling Golfer show there is the additional feature, "Tech Talk," hosted by Tour Edge Golf experts, such as President Dave Glod. With years of experience as a club maker, Glod presents an inside look at the research and development of high-quality golf equipment.

Responding to golfers' never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. The show repeated for an unprecedented third straight year as the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America in the prestigious International Network of Golf Awards, presented at the PGA Merchandise Show in January.

The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 17 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. The old shows are archived for continued viewing on the YouTube Network and on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.
