Toptracer Named Presenting Sponsor of 2018 PGA Show Demo Day

Revolutionary Toptracer Range on Exhibit, Represents New Revenue Opportunity for Golf Facilities of All Sizes

(DALLAS, Texas) – Global sports entertainment leader Topgolf announced its Toptracer brand will be the presenting sponsor of the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day event, where its innovative camera-based ball-tracking platform will be on display and available for testing Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the driving range of Orange County National Golf Center (Winter Garden, Fla.).

One of the most impactful innovations ever to be integrated into televised golf broadcasts, Toptracer is widely regarded as the game’s premier ball-tracking system. It displays on-screen graphics to illustrate shot-shape and trajectory, as well as analyze distance, height, speed and other variables. Iconic events like The Open Championship, U.S. Open, Ryder Cup and various PGA TOUR events have used Toptracer to the delight of millions of television viewers worldwide.

Now, Toptracer is using the same technology seen on broadcasts to improve the overall practice experience at facilities around the world through Toptracer Range. Live in more than 500 bays across the globe, it allows players to track and examine every shot they hit, as well as play games and virtual golf, leading to a more dynamic and fun experience.

Toptracer Range helps facilities of all sizes increase revenue by transforming traditional ranges into practice and entertainment destinations that encourage players to return often with friends and family.

“The business model of driving ranges hasn’t dramatically changed in recent memory, and the result is that profits and usage have remained stagnant,” said Topgolf International and Toptracer Range President Troy Warfield. “With Toptracer Range, we’re providing operators a platform to quickly and easily improve their bottom line by engaging golf’s latent demand of 38 million people interested in the game. At the same time, players benefit from the incredible social, interactive experience for which Topgolf is best known.”

Toptracer Range was introduced at several trial sites across the U.S. and Europe to determine the impact this new technology might have on revenue. Each location featured Toptracer Range in up to 10 bays and collected data on month-over-month performance. The results showed that Toptracer Range-enhanced bays nearly doubled the revenue of non-Toptracer Range bays each month. In one instance at the Golf Center of Arlington in Texas, the results were even more dramatic, as its Toptracer Range bays were bringing in 205 percent more revenue than regular stalls.

The Topgolf team works to tailor solutions based on a facility’s budget and available space. The cost-effective setup works with a range’s existing targets, while the 21” in-bay screens create a more social and entertaining experience with real-time data and metrics. There are no upfront charges, and hardware, installation and support are included in the monthly per bay license fee. Toptracer Range installation can take place within four days.

Beyond its application to television broadcasts and driving ranges, Topgolf is utilizing Toptracer in a variety of unique ways. This includes Toptracer Tournament Range, allowing spectators at professional golf events to see the live shots of their favorite players on large screens, as well as integration into Topgolf Crush, which brings the Topgolf experience to epic stadiums and sports venues around the world. To date, it has visited top U.S. sporting arenas like Safeco Field in Seattle, Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
