LITTLE GOLF T.R.A.I.N. Adds Yoga, Mindfulness in Its Teacher Certification During PGA Show Week

(ORLANDO, FL) – Tempo Tiger’s Tummy Breathing and Maestro Monkey’s Mindful Meditation are just two of the new activities LITTLE GOLF T.R.A.I.N. participants will be learning at it’s half-day teacher training program two days before the PGA Show. Little Golf T.R.A.I.N., an age-appropriate, developmentally correct way to introduce children ages 2-5 to golf, will again conduct a half-day certification training session on Tuesday morning, Jan. 23, in Orlando. The session targets prospective teachers who want to become Certified Conductors (instructors) and current Certified Conductors who wish to supplement their knowledge and training.

The admission fee for new Conductors is $425 (discounted from the online training fee of $695) and includes a hands-on seminar, light breakfast, materials and access to online post-class certification. The location is the same as last year: The Library at Marriott Grand Vista, 12001 Avenida Verde, Orlando, FL 32821. The session runs from 7:30 am - 11 am, conveniently timed so participants can then attend the PGA Show Demo Day.

At the 2016 PGA Show, Dr. Donnelly and Ms. Weller delivered a groundbreaking presentation in the 2,500-seat Chapin Theatre at the Orange County Convention Center at the PGA Youth and Family Golf Summit. Their topic focused on how to introduce very young children (ages 2-5) to golf in a developmentally correct way. Their presentation sparked great interest and discussion among the international group of attendees. Since then, Little Golf T.R.A.I.N. Certified Conductors have come on board in seven countries, and the number continues to grow.

“Parents and coaches want our youngest golfers to truly enjoy the game and learn the correct fundamentals, but many young children are taught as if they are little adults, which doesn’t foster a love of golf,” says Dr. Donnelly, a world-renowned educational sport psychotherapist. “That’s why we developed the T.R.A.I.N. approach, which is based on teaching through play.” Says Weller, Head Teaching Professional at The Landings Club, in Savannah, GA.: “Our program is rooted in early-childhood, age-appropriate techniques and is designed to foster joy in learning about the game. Our goal is to certify golf professionals and pre-school educators around the world so they can introduce children to golf in an age-appropriate way while growing their own business.”
