Silvies Valley Ranch to Offer Total Eclipse of the Sun Package in Advance of the August 21 Eclipse

(SILVIES, OREGON) – On August 21, 2017, the U.S. will experience the first total eclipse of the sun in 26 years. Stretching from Oregon to South Carolina, the solar eclipse will make its way across the country, displaying one of nature’s rarest and most spectacular sites. Located just outside of the path of totality, Silvies Valley Ranch is a premier viewing site for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Guests of Silvies Valley Ranch can witness an unparalleled and uninterrupted viewing experience that is both educational and awe-inspiring with the resort’s Total Eclipse of the Sun package.

From August 19-22, guests can partake in this unique natural event while staying on-site at Silvies Valley Ranch, a working cattle ranch and western eco-resort located in eastern Oregon. The frontier boutique resort merges luxury and relaxation with an authentic Western ranch experience, offering an endless array of activities and adventures to its guests.

“We are thrilled to be a part in what is to be a truly exceptional experience,” said Dr. Scott Campbell, owner of Silvies Valley Ranch. “Our close proximity to the path of totality gives Silvies Valley Ranch an incredibly unique offer to our guests, a place inside the path of totality, and we look forward to sharing it with visitors and astronomy buffs from all over the country.”

The Total Eclipse of the Sun package includes luxury accommodations at The Retreat at Silvies Valley Ranch for a three-night minimum stay, as well as transportation to and from the path of totality. Rates for the package start at $1,800. Once guests arrive on-site, they will be led through a guided viewing of the solar eclipse by a professional astronomer and will receive certified eye protection for direct solar viewing. A full-service Marathon Motor Coach will be on-site at the viewing location, complete with food, beverages and air conditioned seating areas.

In addition to the viewing of the eclipse, the package also includes two rounds of golf on the resort’s 18-hole reversible golf courses, the Hankins and Craddock courses, both designed by architect Dan Hixson. Guests will also be able to experience one on-site resort activity, including shooting, fishing, goat herding, cattle drives, mountain biking and more.

Package pricing is based on single occupancy, with a three-night minimum stay required. All reservations must be paid-in-full upon booking and are non-refundable. Offer is subject to tax, resort fee, availability and with advance reservation at 1-800-SILVIES, and is not valid in conjunction with other offers.
