Riding in Style at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort

Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island introduces two new fleets of innovative Club Car golf carts, including the addition of 12 four-person carts that will help bring a new approach to the game

(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC) — Renowned in the resort industry through the years for remaining on the cutting edge of technological innovation, Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island has announced the arrival of two new, state-of-the-art fleets of golf carts.

Produced by Club Car, the premier name in golf carts, the new fleets at Palmetto Dunes include golf carts equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS), as well as USB ports to charge cell phones and play music devices — all designed to suit a golfer’s enjoyment and functionality.

In addition, Palmetto Dunes has added a dozen four-person golf carts that will serve a host of capabilities.

“We hope to get some foursomes out in the morning playing out of one cart, while also getting in some walking,” said longtime Palmetto Dunes Director of Golf Clark Sinclair. “In the afternoons, we can host some small corporate outings and scramble tournaments with all four players in the same golf cart. We think this will be very attractive to corporate event planners, as it allows an added sense of team and relationship building.”

Palmetto Dunes becomes one of the first golf resorts in the southeast and first in South Carolina to offer the four-person carts.

Palmetto Dunes features a trio of golf courses designed by three of the game’s most unique architects — Robert Trent Jones Sr., George Fazio and Arthur Hills — all three of which have been awarded the Palmetto State’s “Golf Course of the Year” by the South Carolina Board of Directors of the National Golf Course Owners Association.

The Jones Course was ranked No. 9 in Golfweek magazine’s 2016 rankings of the “Best Courses You Can Play in South Carolina” and recently cracked Golfweek’s Top 100 of “Best Resort Courses in the United States.”

Late last year, Condé Nast Traveler named Palmetto Dunes a “Top 20 Best Resort in the South.”
