Metaphase Design Group Awarded Editor’s Choice by Golf Digest

St. Louis-based design firm recognized for collaboration with Ping on new Hoofer Golf Bag

(ST. LOUIS) — Metaphase Design Group, a world leader specializing in the research, ergonomics and design of hand-intensive products and packaging, received the 2016 Editor’s Choice Best Bag award from Golf Digest for the newly released Ping Hoofer golf bag.

Golf Digest named the Ping Hoofer golf bag as its top pick for the “carry” category due to its 12-pocket design and adjustable dual strap technology feature designed to wick moisture away. This iconic Hoofer bag model, like all Metaphase products, was designed with ergonomics in mind.

“This product design keeps every step of the golf game in mind,” said Dr. Bryce Rutter, founder and CEO of Metaphase. “From walking the course, to cart-fit, to storage, the bag considers every move and need that any level golfer may have.”

Metaphase, in collaboration with Ping, researched and studied the function, problems and innovation of golf bags in the current market. Metaphase conducted first-hand research with golfers, gathered user insights, analyzed the ergonomics and design, pinpointed consumer experience improvements and synthesized the findings to define ergonomic performance requirements that enhance usability and transportability.

“It’s not about just having an attractive looking bag, the functions are really the important part,” said Rutter. “We want to make life on the links as effortless as possible.”

Among one of the top features is the adjustable dual strap, allowing golfers to switch between a one-strap and two-strap carrying. The intentional design of the handles and 12 pockets allow for easy maneuvering of the bag and supplies. The handles strategically placed at the top and bottom of the bag allow effortless transfer to and from the cart, while the insulated water bottle pocket is placed so that the golfer can reach his/her drink without strain.
