New Hotels and Resorts Expand Deluxe Lodging Options in Los Cabos

Cabo boosts its upscale hospitality choices for affluent golfers seeking the best

(LOS CABOS, Mexico) – Avid golfers headed to Los Cabos, Latin America’s finest and most exclusive golf destination, can expect a plethora of new deluxe lodging options scheduled to open later this year through 2018. Cabo, in fact, is in the midst of a hospitality boom, with expansions underway at existing hotels and new resorts under construction at the rounded tip of the Baja Peninsula. These upscale additions will greatly enhance overnight choices for avid, affluent players.

At Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, the luxury all-inclusive, adults-only hotel located five minutes from Quivira Golf Club and its spectacular Jack Nicklaus-designed course, which scales the heights at Land’s End, The Towers at Pacifica are slated to open in December 2016. A multi-million-dollar project, The Towers at Pacifica entails three new structures featuring well-appointed accommodations, enhanced amenities and personalized services, including 24-hour British Butler Institute-certified butler service. Two new buildings will house 47 Club Level suites and rooms, with amenities ranging from custom-stocked mini-bars and portable Beats speakers to Egyptian-cotton bedding and aromatherapy turndown service. Select accommodations include six pool suites with private plunge pools and a resplendent Presidential Suite on the top floor of The Towers at Pacifica that will offer 3,233 square feet of indoor / outdoor space. The third new multi-level building will feature a gourmet restaurant plus a bar and outdoor beach lounge on the ground floor, a fitness center on the second floor and the Towers Lounge on the third floor. Accessible via sky bridge and available exclusively to guests of The Towers at Pacifica, the lounge will offer unique culinary experiences daily, handcrafted cocktails and dramatic ocean views.

Also scheduled to open in December is the highly anticipated Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, an intimate new luxury resort situated on one of the most beautiful beaches in Los Cabos. Owned by Auberge Resorts Collection, which also manages Esperanza, long celebrated as one of the most exclusive retreats in Los Cabos, the new hotel is part of the 1,200-acre resort community of Chileno Bay, a Discovery Land Company development.

“The resort will be unlike anything else in the marketplace, offering a modern, active and outgoing spirit in its design and lifestyle,” said Mark Cooley of SV Capital Partners, developer of Chileno Bay Resort & Residences. “Coupled with Auberge’s signature service, we know it will be a highly sought-after destination for guests seeking Cabo’s newest luxury experience.”

The property, defined by its iconic setting on the largest protected beach with swimmable waters in Los Cabos, will feature contemporary architecture, a signature restaurant (with interactive ceviche bar), a full-service spa, an H2O sports activity cave and a three-tiered, zero-edge pool. The resort itself, comprised of 60 guest rooms and 32 two- three- and four-bedroom villas, will feature a color palette of earth, plant and sea tones with bright sea-colored tiles, custom fabrics, high-quality natural materials, original artwork and stylish fixtures designed to create an elegant desert-meets-ocean environment.

Resort guests will enjoy exclusive access to Chileno Bay’s superb Tom Fazio-designed course, a testing 7,260-yard layout marked by graceful, flowing landforms intended to simulate rolling ocean waves. Framed by large sculpted bunkers, broad sandy arroyos and groves of palo blanco trees, the course will reopen in December with a new landscape scheme.

Looking ahead, this thriving destination will welcome a trio of top-tier, golf-affiliated resorts in the months and years ahead. These properties include The Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residences at Puerto Los Cabos, a sophisticated, stylish enclave that will debut next year with 27 deluxe villas and preferred access to Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club. By 2017, the club will feature 27 holes of golf by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, its diverse mix of holes rolling through steep desert foothills high above the Sea of Cortes.

Maravilla Los Cabos, an upscale family-oriented real estate community nearing completion, will welcome a next-door neighbor in 2018, when Montage Los Cabos opens with 122 guest rooms as well as 52 whole-ownership residences. The centerpiece of the 1,400-acre community will be Twin Dolphin Golf Club, a gorgeous Fred Couples-designed course that will circulate players from rolling desert foothills to the beachfront.

Finally, the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas will debut on the sparsely developed East Cape in 2018. Its major components include a 250-slip deep-water marina, a beach and yacht club and a 145-key resort spread across multiple buildings. Routed between a two-mile stretch of beach and the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains will be a fun, playable Robert Trent Jones II-designed course marked by several double-wide fairways and open-entry greens.
