Wyndham Cup Players Get the Distance with Leupold GX Rangefinders

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) — Leupold’s GX-3i2 laser rangefinder served as the official rangefinder of the Wyndham Cup, one of the American Junior Golf Association’s marquee tournaments.

The Leupold GX-3i2 was the only rangefinder used by players in the Wyndham Cup, which was held July 25-28 at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. The annual event brings together 40 of the country’s top junior golfers in an East-versus-West team match play competition. The West team won for the fourth straight year.

Wyndham Cup alumni include some of the biggest names in professional golf: Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Paula Creamer, Rickie Fowler, Cristie Kerr, Matt Kuchar, Brittany Lincicome, Inbee Park, Morgan Pressel, Webb Simpson, Lexi Thompson, Bubba Watson and others.

“In supporting the AJGA, we are helping to support the future of golf,” said Rob Morrison, vice president, global marketing for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “We provide our GX rangefinders to these junior golfers to help them play at a high level and complete their rounds faster in tournaments such as the Wyndham Cup. Whether they go on to pro careers or remain amateurs, we hope their AJGA and Pace of Play experiences will enhance enjoyment of the game over the course of their lives.”

Leupold has a seven-year partnership commitment to the AJGA as title sponsor of its Pace of Play program. Initiated in 2003, the program gives the world’s top junior golfers the opportunity to learn how to compete and play ready golf on some of the best courses in the country. In addition to its Pace of Play sponsorship, Leupold is the Official Rangefinder of the AJGA.
