Military Veteran Loops for Jim Herman at PGA Championship

Who’s Your Caddie? Retired Military Veteran Lands Looping job During 98Th PGA Championship Practice Round

(RELEASE) - Chris Nowak, a retired Marine Corps Corporal and current PGA HOPE Coordinator, picked up a looping job during the Tuesday practice round at the 98th PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club.

Nowak, who lost his right leg during a friendly fire training incident, was called into action as a caddie, and he didn’t skip a beat. Nowak was on the bag for the back nine with PGA TOUR golfer Jim Herman.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable Foundation of the PGA of America. The program, which is fully funded by PGA REACH and offered at no cost to Veterans, introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
