18 Troon Affiliated Resorts Recognized As Top Golf Resorts By GOLF Magazine

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Troon, the leader in golf course management, development and marketing is proud to recognize its affiliated resort destinations named to GOLF Magazine and Golf.com’s “Premier Resorts” rankings for 2016-17 – the biennial guide listing the greatest resort destinations in North America. As noted below, The Equinox, a Luxury Collection Golf Resort & Spa in Manchester Village, Vermont made its exciting debut as a Silver Medal Resort while The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz. returned to the prestigious list.  In total, 112 resorts were named to either the Gold or Silver Medal categories, 18 of which feature Troon-affiliated golf courses, including:

- Silverado Resort and Spa (North & South Courses) – Napa, Calif.
- The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa (Acacia, Ironwood & Mesquite Courses) – Scottsdale, Ariz.
- The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa (La Paloma Country Club) (new) – Tucson, Ariz.
- The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa (The Club at Savannah Harbor) – Savannah, Georgia
- World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort (The Slammer & The Squire) – St. Augustine, Florida

Voting for the “Best Golf Resorts” was based on four criteria: golf, lodging, food & drink, and service. Forty percent of the resort recognition was based on golf, considering factors such as challenge, playability, scenery, history, facilities and service. The rest of the score was equally weighed among lodging, food & drink, and overall service at the resorts.
