KemperSports Celebrates Third Annual Player Development Week

KemperSports launches #PDWeek across portfolio – a company-wide commitment to growing the game by offering complimentary golf lessons participating properties

(Northbrook, Ill.) – KemperSports announced today that they will host their third annual #PDWeek (Player Development Week) from June 20-26. #PDWeek is KemperSports’ annual celebration of our commitment to player development as a company and by its general managers and PGA professionals. #PDWeek is focused on bringing the game to new golfers through a variety of complimentary programs, clinics and lessons during the week.

Golfers at KemperSports properties are also encouraged to take part in the #1MoreGolfer campaign in which all avid golfers are asked to share their love of the game of golf by introducing the sport to #1MoreGolfer during their private lesson during #PDWeek. The novice golfer will be provided with complimentary equipment rentals during the lesson.

The inaugural celebration, which started in 2014, saw more than 3,500 private lessons with new golfers at KemperSports courses across the country. That number nearly doubled in 2015 by introducing nearly 6,300 new golfers and more than 16,000 mentions on social media. KemperSports’ overall player development strategy is centered on programs such as Get Golf Ready, Play 9 Day, Play Golf America, PGA Junior League, Drive Chip & Putt and PGA Junior Golf Camps.

#PDWeek is the cornerstone and celebration of KemperSports’ overall Player Development Program – a proprietary initiative built to provide tools and best practices to a portfolio of more than 130 public, private and resort golf courses around the country. The program is geared to deliver innovative ways to reach an entire demographic of non-golfers. Our family of PGA professionals across the country are dedicated to player development not only for beginners, but intermediate and advanced players as well.

“As avid golfers ourselves, we are passionate about the game of golf,” said KemperSports president Josh Lesnik. “#PDWeek gives us the opportunity to share our love of the game and hopefully introduce the game to a generation of non-golfers.”

With the belief that golf is not only our job, but our passion, KemperSports takes personal pride in its mission to help grow the game and share our love of the sport with new and former golfers. Guests at KemperSports facilities are encouraged to use the hashtag #PDWeek to show their support of the program and their love of the game of golf.

“The potential to become a golfer lies within many people, we just want to help ignite that passion,” said Lesnik.
