Troon Introduces 'Get Into Golf' Initiative

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Troon, an industry leader in finding new ways to grow the game of golf, has unveiled the “Get Into Golf” initiative aimed at introducing the game to new participants. The Get Into Golf program provides all the tools necessary to give golf a test run, including golf clubs and golf balls, practice range time, a weekly ‘intro to golf’ clinic and ending with a three-hole test run – so participants can get a taste of what it’s like to be on a golf course in a friendly, fun and non-competitive atmosphere.

“The Get Into Golf program is geared towards those who are newer to the game, have never picked up a club, or have very little golf knowledge, and knocks down all of the reasons it is difficult to try the sport,” said Ryan Walls, senior vice president, operations, Troon. “Instructors will introduce the basics of the game in a fun, affordable and no-pressure atmosphere and the facilities will provide all of the golf equipment for the participants. Skiing does it so well with their programming and instruction and this is our foray into making it easy for people to…Get Into Golf!”

Get Into Golf starts at just $39 at participating Troon facilities across the globe. For scheduling information, a full list of participating Troon courses, and to learn more about the Get Into Golf program, visit TroonGolf.com/GetIntoGolf.

“In the golf industry today, we need to change our habits and norms to attract new participants,” added Walls. “We need to create tangible opportunities that go directly at the core issues in golf. Our pace of play programs, military program, rewards program, relaxed dress code philosophy and revenue management programs have all done that. Moreover, our recent Troon golfer survey, with over 10,000 respondents, indicated that 62% of current golfers have not introduced a new player to the game in the past year. Get Into Golf is a fantastic opportunity to improve that trend.”

In addition to the Get Into Golf program, for the fifth consecutive year participating Troon facilities are supporting Troon Player Development Month throughout the month of May. Troon daily-fee facilities, private clubs and Troon Golf Academies around the world will join together to conduct more than 500 introductory golf clinics and activities during the month of May. These clinics also introduce beginners to the game in a fun, affordable and educational way and have benefited junior players around the world.
