The annual Troon Challenge is Troon's largest amateur golf event, attracting more than 1,200 loyal golfers competing in regional qualifying events across the United States. Two-person teams in both Net and Gross Divisions will vie for the chance to qualify for the National Finals to be held in Scottsdale Ariz. September 9-11, 2016. For the first time ever, the Troon Challenge National Finals will feature a rotation of golf courses with tournament rounds being played at The Boulders Resort (North Course) and Troon North Golf Club (Monument Course).

“The quality of the venues and competition are once again awesome for the 2016 edition of the Troon Challenge presented by Callaway Golf,” said Kris Strauss, vice president, sales and marketing, Troon. “There are many Top 100 and Best-in-State clubs hosting regional qualifying events, including Maderas, Lake of Isles, Yocha Dehe, and World Golf Village. There are even a number of qualifiers at facilities that have played or play host to PGA TOUR or LPGA Tour events including Silverado in Napa, Calif. and Stockton Seaview in Galloway, N.J.”

Qualifying events kickoff this weekend, April 9th, at Westin Mission Hills – Gary Player Course in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Entry into any qualifying event includes green fee, cart, practice balls, one dozen Callaway Chrome Soft golf balls, Imperial Coolcore Instant Cooling Towel, event prizes, and post-tournament awards reception.

“National events such as the Troon Challenge wouldn’t be possible without the support of our frequent players, the amazing venues and of course, our supporting event partners,” added Strauss. “This year’s event will be supported once again by Callaway Golf, who will provide a Callaway Shopping Experience at the National Finals. Additional supporting sponsors include Imperial Headwear, Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, TRUE linkswear, Pepsi and American Hole ‘n One.”
