Silver Lake Golf Course becomes first NYC course to introduce and use Golf Skate Caddy

(FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.)  – Originally created as Staten Island’s response to Manhattan’s Central Park and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, Silver Lake Park provides abundant recreational activities for many New Yorkers, especially golfers, who can drive 45 minutes from the city and tee it up at one of the area’s most popular 18-hole layouts, Silver Lake Golf Course.

Beginning in April, Silver Lake Golf Course will add a unique attraction to the game by offering players the latest in golf technology, the stand-up golf cart by Golf Skate Caddy.

Golf Skate Caddy is putting more fun and joy back into the game for golfers of all ages. It speeds up play, allows golfers to play their own ball, and burns more calories per round than playing out of a traditional golf cart.

Golfers will quickly grasp and experience how smooth and easy the Golf Skate Caddy is to control. The stand-up golf cart has many features, including extra wide turf tires and shock absorbers to ensure a safe, comfortable and stable ride. Each unit comes with a large, detachable umbrella that protects players from the sun or rain. Other benefits include special tech features such as convenient USB ports, smart phone holder, super bright and large LCD display, ergonomic grip handle and more.

Silver Lake’s par 70, 6,328-yard course, was built within Silver Lake Park in the late 1920s.  The course is rated 4 out of 5 stars on GolfNow.com. After seeing Golf Skate Caddy at the PGA Merchandise Show in January, Silver Lake’s management was so impressed with the fun and easy-to-control stand-up carts, they added a fleet of 12 units for the 2016 season.

“We are so excited to be working with Silver Lake Golf Course,” said Patrick Pires, Executive Vice-President of Golf Skate Caddy. “With the course’s close proximity to downtown Manhattan and the joint promotional opportunities that are available, thousands of golfers will get the chance to experience the fun of riding a Golf Skate Caddy.”

Golf Skate Caddy allows golfers to ride alone and enjoy the game the way it was intended when it was a walking game. Players can concentrate better and focus on their game preparing for their next shot devoid of disruptive small talk or gripping that often happens in a two-person golf cart. With space for a single golf bag, a built-in cooler and the ability to play music, the Golf Skate Caddy adds a new element of fun, independence, and freedom into the game.

“Our goal is to grow the game and make the game more fun for everyone,” said Pires. “Golf pros and course owners are realizing the unique revenue opportunity and marketing draw of this technology. We look forward to our partnership with Silver Lake Golf Course and others who see the benefits of our product and its impact on the future of the game.”
