Traveling Golfer at Innisbrook Resort and Clearwater Beach

The Traveling Golfer visits the incredible courses at Innisbrook Resort and their world-class amenities. Take an exclusive look also at the beautiful Clearwater Beach

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) - Philadelphians have enjoyed a love affair with the Clearwater area of Florida for years. First, they discovered it because their beloved Philadelphia Phillies have been holding spring training in the West Coast of Florida location since the end of World War II.

Then they discovered all of the other reasons to love the Clearwater area: the pristine beaches, the great restaurants, the excellent weather ... and the fantastic golf. All of that will be the focus of the latest episode of the of the award-winning Traveling Golfer television show, airing throughout the month of December.

Clearwater Beach, rated one of America's finest beaches and a noted family vacation destination, brings people from all over the world. Whether the attraction is fishing, boating, swimming in the gentle waters of the Gulf of Mexico, or just lying on the sugar-white sand of Florida's best beach, people enjoy Clearwater Beach.

But when they want one of the largest and finest golf resorts in America, Innisbrook Resort and Spa gets the call.

Just a few miles north of Clearwater on Highway 19 in Tarpon Springs, Innisbrook boasts 72 holes of championship golf. Set in a 900-plus acre nature preserve the resort is an oasis in the middle of Florida's busy West Coast. Only 35 minutes from Tampa Airport, it is easy to access.

The golf courses are renowned for their design excellence and conditioning. Now, the heralded Copperhead course, home to the PGA Tour's Valspar Championship, is even better - following a major renovation of the course.

Viewers will be interested to see all that has been done to one of America's most famous courses, as well as getting a close up view of the other three layouts - the similarly lauded Island Course and the player friendly North and South courses.

"I made my first trip to Innisbrook in the mid-'80s," said Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora. "I fell in love with the property immediately. I have made so many return trips since then, I lost count. And I think I like the property better each time."

Innisbrook Director of Golf Bobby Barnes said it best when he commented, "It's always amazing to me when you make that drive down busy Highway 19, then make that drive into Innisbrook. You immediately think you're in the rolling sandhills of Carolina."

To make things even more appealing to visitors, 620 spacious hotel rooms are sprinkled throughout the property, as well as some outstanding restaurants.

The episode from Innisbrook and Clearwater Beach begins airing December 1 and runs throughout the month on The Traveling Golfer Network of websites ... including The Golf Director Network (see full list of sites on travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air on Monday, December 14 as part of the Press Box television show in Myrtle Beach, 5 to 7 p.m. on HTC Ch. 4. As of April, the Traveling Golfer began airing in its entirety as a scheduled weekly feature show on Comcast SportsNet and The Comcast Network throughout the Philadelphia, Mid-Atlantic, North Jersey and Pittsburgh markets.

As part of every Traveling Golfer show there is the additional feature, "Tech Talk", hosted by Tour Edge Golf President Dave Glod. With years of experience as a clubmaker, Glod presents an inside look at the research and development of high-quality golf equipment.

Responding to golfers' never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. The show won first place for golf television broadcasts in the prestigious International Network of Golf Awards, presented at the PGA Merchandise Show in January.

The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 15 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. The old shows are archived for continued viewing on home website, travelinggolfervideo.com.
