Capital Canyon Club Grand Opening Set for October 3

Morning Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Scheduled to Open Up Day of Festivities

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – One of Arizona’s most storied private country clubs has been masterfully restored after a nearly three-year absence on the state’s golf landscape.

Capital Canyon Club, amidst spectacular Ponderosa pines and magnificent rock outcroppings in Prescott, exudes an ambience all its own in Arizona’s high country. A grand opening celebration is slated for Sunday, October 3. A 9 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off the festivities followed by a golf tournament featuring owners, members, town of Prescott officials and special invitees.

“We are so excited to unveil what is truly going to be one of the country’s finest high-elevation golf course communities,” said Laura Scrivner, general manager of the Capital Canyon Club. “The club is steeped rich in tradition and we have brought that important aspect forward in our redevelopment and the end result is simply stunning.”

For those not playing in the golf tournament, badminton, bocce and croquet games will be played from 12–3 p.m. while a Fall Fest Food Frenzy will be available from 3-6 p.m. with entertainment provided by local band, South of Winslow.

Formerly known as Hassayampa Golf Club, the Capital Canyon Club, with unparalleled views of the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff from virtually every angle of the club is situated on one of the state’s original golf courses. The nearly century-old private country club, located just two miles from historic Courthouse Square has a long and prestigious legacy in the northern Arizona community. Capital Canyon Club’s new ownership group has developed the new property as a “family-friendly” club with amenities, activities and social events that will attract every member throughout the year.

Dating back to 1919, the new Capital Canyon Club name, inspired by the gorgeous scenery of the area reflects the fact that Prescott was the United States’ first Capital of the Southwest Territory, as designated by President Abraham Lincoln in 1864. Complementing the beautiful 18-hole Tom Weiskopf Signature Championship golf course, the Capital Canyon Club features exquisite dining with indoor/outdoor patio seating, wood-burning fireplaces, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

“The warmth, beauty and serenity of our clubhouse is readily apparent as you come upon our property. Members will be delighted by the changes that have been made as we will continually strive to offer the ultimate golf course experience anywhere,” added Scrivner.
