Troon Cup Delivers Exciting Event at The Club at Cordillera

Camaraderie and Hospitality Shine as Players of Prestigious Private Golf Clubs Enjoy Two-Days of Luxury and Competition

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) — The 2015 Troon Cup recently concluded after two days of hard-fought competition on the Mountain course and Summit course at The Club at Cordillera in Vail Valley, Co. The event featured 55 four-person teams representing prestigious private clubs in Troon’s portfolio of private clubs.

The 13th annual Troon Cup also featured special events including a golf clinic with Dave Pelz, golf’s leading short-game instructor, and a long-drive competition hosted by Tim Mahoney, Troon’s director of education at the Troon Golf Academy. Also contributing to the memorable event were the Troon Cup’s leading sponsors, FootJoy, Titleist and Zacapa Rum.

In Troon Cup fashion, the tournament was closely contested with three teams forcing a scorecard playoff for first place. In the end, the team from Torreon Golf Club in Show Low, Ariz. came out on top over The Club at Cordillera placing second and Fieldstone Golf Club in Greenville, Del. placing third.

After being held at The Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Ariz. in 2014, the Troon Cup will return to Arizona next year. The 2016 host will be another flagship property – Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., with the event taking place on the Monument and Pinnacle courses.
