European Captain Calls on Kaenon to Provide an Inspirational Edge

Carin Koch, longtime Kaenon ambassador and Solheim Cup Captain, collaborates with Kaenon Polarized for inspiration and visual advantage, as Europe shoots for third consecutive victory

(NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.) - Carin Koch, has chosen her long-time eyewear partner Kaenon Polarized to provide a unique gift for the members of her Solheim Cup team. Focused on a three-peat, the European captain will outfit her team in style, technology and a special motivational message in hopes of continuing the winning streak against the American side.

“I’m excited that Kaenon was able to create something truly special and personal,” describes the 44 year old Swede. “Their designs have become an extension of my personality, on and off the course, and their lens is second to none.” Each Kaenon Clarke gifted will have three yellow stars hand painted on the left temple. Each star represents a Solheim Cup win over the United States, the third still to be earned in Germany.

The bold three-star design, conceived by Koch, is intended to motivate her team and represents what she believes they are capable of achieving.  “The opportunity to guide these talented women to a third consecutive win is truly an honor. To do so, will require motivation and confidence,” describes Koch, who has been on the winning end of Solheim competitions as both player and vice-captain.

Koch has been a prominent face of Kaenon golf since the brand’s inception.  “We’ve been friends for over 20 years, so we were honored when Carin approached us with her idea.  To lead Europe to a third consecutive victory over the US would be a crowning milestone to a wonderful career for Carin, as well as the entire European golfing community,” said Steve Rosenberg, co-founder of Kaenon.

Together Rosenberg and Koch decided on the Kaenon Clarke design – a retro-inspired classic that doesn’t look like a typical active lifestyle sunglass frame. A limited number of the Carin Koch special edition Kaenon Clarke sunglasses will be sold on site at the Solheim Cup; which includes a commemorative customized Solheim Cup microfiber cleaning bag.

Athletes will attest, the real magic of Kaenon lies within the lens technology. Kaenon’s proprietary polarized SR-91® lens material is the industry’s only uncompromising lens to offer superior visual clarity, impact resistance, durability, color saturation and detail definition, with full-spectrum UV protection– all in an extremely lightweight package.

Kaenon’s patented SR-91 lens is further validated by multiple victories on both the LPGA and PGA Tours, and use from other well-known female players and Solheim Cup participants, former Tour player and vice-captain Sophie Gustafson, Germany’s hometown hero Caroline Masson, and American Morgan Pressel.

The collaboration between Koch and Kaenon is one of several athlete-inspired product developments that has become the inspiration for Kaenon’s upcoming 2015 Holiday Capsule Collection – KLR – launching to retail and available at kaenon.com this November.

Follow @Kaenon on Twitter and Instagram for a unique perspective on the final two days of competition and a chance to win a pair of Kaenon sunglasses, as fellow Swede, Kaenon ambassador and LPGA player Pernilla Lindberg comments live during the competition.
