KemperSports Staffer Prepares for PGA Championship

(Northbrook, Ill.) – KemperSports staffer and current general manager at The Hideaway at Arrington Johan Kok is preparing to participate as one of 20 PGA Professionals in the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straights. Kok qualified for the event by finishing tied for 10th place (284, +2) in the PGA Professional National Championship held at Philadelphia Cricket Club in July.

Kok is no stranger to competitive play at the professional level as he also took part in the 2014 PGA Championship held at Valhalla. While he missed the cut by just two shots, he’ll be remembered for holing a 100-ft. putt on the 18th hole to finish out his first round.

“The PGA Championship is the pinnacle of the professional game and it’s an honor to have earned a spot for the second consecutive year.” said Kok. “My goal is to represent KemperSports and The Hideaway at Arrington in the best light possible, have fun and get some big putts to drop that will hopefully get me to the weekend.”

Although Kok is talented enough on the golf course to qualify for professional events, he has spent much of the last six months in his daily role as KemperSports’ general manager and director of golf at The Hideaway at Arrington as the property prepares for its grand opening slated for early 2016.

“We are very excited for Johan and know that he will represent the club well,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner.

The Hideaway at Arrington is a championship golf course nestled in Arrington, Tennessee, built on the 742-acre former estate of country music star Tanya Tucker. The golf course was designed by the architect trio of Robert von Hagge, Michael Smelek and Rick Baril, and rolls through the Tennessee foothills with incredible scenic views. In addition to the championship golf course and driving range, a clubhouse, pool, fitness center and day spa are being built as amenities to complement the more than 200 available home sites on the property. The property is managed by Northbrook, Illinois-based KemperSports and owned by ABP Capital.
