Troon Selected to Manage Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf Aruba

Also Welcomes Return of Oliver Riding as Director of Golf Operations

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf, the premium lifestyle resort community on Aruba, has selected Troon,® to manage its golf operations.

Located on more than 550 acres of Aruba’s most scenic northern coastline, Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf Aruba is the island’s premium lifestyle community providing a choice of homeownership and rental opportunities. The property features the island’s only 18-hole championship golf course. Renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones II masterfully sculpted 18 holes of golf combining the natural elements of wind, sea and earth to create a challenging and exhilarating experience for golfers. The golf experience at Tierra del Sol combines the best characteristics of Scotland, Scottsdale, and the Caribbean all together in one memorable round.

“We are delighted to have Troon on board as our golf management partner”, says Cisco Quant, general manager of Tierra del Sol Resort and Golf Aruba. ”Troon has an excellent track record of marketing and managing over 250 world class golf facilities in 27 countries. Our partnership with them will provide Tierra del Sol with unparalleled expertise in all aspects of golf operations as well as access to a substantial market of active Troon golfers that can now add Aruba as a golf destination.”

Tierra del Sol and Troon are also delighted to announce the return of Oliver Riding as the director of golf operations. Oliver is a familiar face to both Tierra del Sol and Troon. For the past three years, Riding has held a leadership position with Troon in Acapulco at Turtle Dunes Country Club. His return to Aruba marks a homecoming back to Tierra del Sol where Riding had previously served as head golf professional for seven years. Riding’s positive history and familiarity with the members and local community, combined with his leadership development and experience with Troon, make him the ideal person for the position.

“Tierra del Sol is a magnificent property located on the extremely unique and desirable destination of Aruba,” says Jim Bellington, Troon’s senior vice president, operations and development. “We are honored to have been selected by the new ownership group as Tierra del Sol enters an exciting phase of its future. We are fully confident our involvement will help deliver an exceptional experience to the residents, members, and visitors of Tierra del Sol and Aruba alike.”

The acquisition of Tierra del Sol by a new ownership group marks an exciting future for the property with many new changes including new real estate ownership opportunities, the construction of a five-star hotel, and many improvements already made to the existing golf, villa rental, food & beverage, and clubhouse operations. The new ownership team is committed to providing the best Aruba has to offer in one place. The partnership between Troon and Tierra del Sol reflects this commitment.

“Our new ownership team has demonstrated its commitment to ensuring Tierra del Sol continues to be the best Aruba has to offer in one place. I also look forward to having Oliver back on our team and working with him to deliver an incredible golf experience for our members, locals, and visitors, but also the best golf experience in the Troon golf community. I personally invite the Troon golf community to come to Aruba and to stay and play here at Tierra del Sol.”
