Billy Casper Golf Earns Management Extensions from Cities of Euclid (OH), Fernandina Beach (FL)

(RESTON, VA) – The City of Euclid (OH) and the City of Fernandina Beach (FL) have extended their partnerships with Billy Casper Golf (BCG) for the company to manage perennial favorites Briardale Greens Golf Course and Fernandina Beach Golf Club, respectively.

Under BCG management since 2010, BCG returned Briardale Greens to profitably in two years.  Special events like “Demo Days” and a “Players Series” have significantly increased golf rounds while season passes reward golfers with unlimited greens fees, discounts on food and merchandise, and other benefits.  Its First Tee program and participation in BCG’s World’s Largest Golf Outing round out the programming excitement at Briardale.

Course conditions have also improved earning Briardale the coveted “Best Greens in Northeastern Ohio” award by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.  Installation of a new irrigation control system and satellite boxes have added to overall appeal and playability.  The course has benefitted from new golf carts and maintenance equipment, procured at substantial savings by BCG’s national accounts division.

“The Billy Casper Golf team has elevated Briardale Greens to new heights,” says the City of Euclid Mayor Bill Cervenik.  “We are thrilled with the course’s return to prominence and excited for generations of locals to play great golf here”

BCG’s success at Fernandina Beach since 2010 include the conservation of the South Course’s greens and ongoing restoration of the West Course’s greens to Champion Bermuda grass.  Funded by BCG, these and other extensive renovations have met with rave reviews from golfers and City officials as enriched playing surfaces are increasing rounds.

Utilizing BCG’s proprietary “ACE the Guest Experience” training program, customer satisfaction is at an all-time high.  Furthermore, the new “Beach Card” is popular among locals for its preferred daily rates and the “Player Development Program,” with unlimited range balls after twilight and discount greens fees and instruction, is ideal for beginners.

“There’s a new vibe at our golf courses,” says Josh O’Brien, General Manager of Fernandina Beach Golf Club.  “Better course conditions and programs involving the community have golfers flocking to the fairways.”

About Briardale Greens Golf Course
Twenty minutes from downtown Cleveland, Briardale Greens has been providing friendly challenges to all skill levels since opening in 1977.  The 18-hole, par-70, 6,058-yard Pat LaConte layout features tree-lined fairways, nearly 40 bunkers, four sets of tees and large, undulated greens.

Roughly one mile from picturesque Lake Erie, distance control and accurate approaches are key to scoring well at Briardale Greens.  The 313-yard, par-4 No. 3 requires a well-positioned tee shot to avoid bunkers and a lake on the right, while the 413-yard, par-4 No. 18 calls for a long, straight drive to set up a closing par or birdie.

A comprehensive practice area includes two putting greens and a lighted and heated driving range ideal for learning and sharpening skills.  The clubhouse golf shop has the latest in brand name merchandise while the Sticks Pub & Grille serves cold drinks, comfort food and homemade soups.
