FarmLinks at Pursell Farms Welcomes Curtis Ohrn as New Director of Golf

(SYLACAUGA, ALABAMA) – FarmLinks at Pursell Farms, Alabama’s number-one public play golf course, is pleased to announce the appointment of Curtis Ohrn as the new director of golf at FarmLinks Golf Club.  In his new role, Ohrn will oversee all aspects of golf operations, including the championship, 18-hole course, the oversized driving, chipping and putting range and the FarmLinks Golf Academy, and he will take the lead in the development and implementation of new golf programs for the award-winning course and all-inclusive, destination resort.

“This is an exciting time of growth for FarmLinks as we continue to advance our golf experiences and services,” stated David Pursell, founder and CEO of FarmLinks, “and we are very glad to welcome Curtis to the team.  We were fortunate to select from an impressive list of candidates, but it was Curtis’s commitment to excellence in customer service and his proven track record for providing the highest quality golf experiences that solidified our choice.  He’s the perfect person to take our golf operations to the next level and to meet and exceed the needs of our guests – both public golfers and resort guests.”

Originally from Fort Worth TX., Ohrn comes to FarmLinks from Shoal Creek, in Birmingham, Ala., where he served as 1st assistant golf professional for eight years.

He is married to his wife Danyell and they have a daughter Storie, who was born on July 7, 2013.

The experience, knowledge and enthusiasm Ohrn brings to his new position from eight years at one of Alabama’s top country clubs will transfer well with FarmLinks’ guests and programs and with the award-winning customer service and hospitality for which the Pursell Farms team is nationally known and recognized.

"I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with David Pursell and the Pursell Farms team to continue positioning FarmLinks as the number-one golf course in Alabama and among the top courses in the nation,” Ohrn says.  “I am truly looking forward to providing outstanding customer service, offering new golf programs and giving guests an experience they will never forget.”
