‘Secret Golf with Steve Elkington’ moves to CBS Sports Network

Popular show featuring 1995 PGA Champion traveling the nation and telling viewers about the hidden stories in golf begins 15-week run on Saturday, May 9

(RELEASE) - Capitalizing on its first-season run that brought hilarious, heart-touching and hidden golf stories to viewers, Secret Golf with Steve Elkington will move to CBS Sports Network for its second season.

The show, featuring major champion and Champions Tour mainstay Steve Elkington traveling the United States and Canada exploring the hidden stories in golf on all levels, will debut on CBS Sports Network Saturday, May 9. The 15-episode run concludes in August.

“Moving to CBS Sports Network is a tremendous opportunity for our team to show people why golfers love golf so much and how much it means to them. The characters and quirky courses we discover all swirl together to make Secret Golf with Steve Elkington one of the most unique shows on television and we are thrilled to bring it to them on CBS Sports Network,” Elkington said.

Golf television veteran Judith Coleman returns as executive producer.

“Knowing the quality of golf CBS has telecast for more than 50 years, we are very excited to be associated with the CBS family of networks and we’re truly happy to be on CBS Sports Network,” Coleman said. “This is a dream come true for all of us at Secret Golf. We couldn’t have landed in a better place.”

Coleman’s 20 year resume’ includes stints at CBS, as well as Golf Channel and 10 years at PGA TOUR Productions. Growing up around the game in suburban Chicago, she brings a story-teller’s eye that meshes perfectly with Elkington’s charismatic manner of adapting to every situation or encounter.

Secret Golf with Steve Elkington features Elkington and members of the Secret Golf team traveling North America in his custom mobile estate, “The Big Show,” in search of the hidden, untold stories in the world of golf. Nothing on that plate is inedible to taste and share with viewers: from Elkington giving tips to physically challenged golfers at Cog Hill outside Chicago to the 1995 PGA Championship winner taking on Tactical Team Members at Angola’s Prison View Golf Course, to the Secret Golf team discovering a 102-year-old golfer who walks nine holes twice a week, then playing the Jacksonville, Fla. course where Ben Hogan once made an 11 on a par-3.

Secret Golf with Steve Elkington will once again feature cameos from several of Elkington’s fellow PGA TOUR and Champions Tour pros, along with visits from Secret Golf partners Jason Dufner and Pat Perez, who will bring their inside-the-ropes and unique inside-the-mind perspective on tournament golf to viewers.

CBS Sports Network is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 221 and Dish Network Channel 158. For more information, including a full programming schedule and how to get CBS Sports Network, go to www.cbssportsnetwork.com.
