GolfTalk Live Begins 10th Season on Air

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) - The award-winning GolfTalk Live radio show began its tenth season on air Saturday - and announced a new round of expansion.

GolfTalk Live is the award-winning golf radio show that debuted nine years ago on March 4, 2006 on WNTP, Philadelphia's Newstalk 990-AM.  From its inception, GolfTalk Live host Tony Leodora has provided area golfers with all the latest golf destination information, instruction, local golf stories and news from around the PGA, including interviews with people from all facets of the golf world.

In addition to WNTP, the show's flagship station, GolfTalk Live starts its fourth year of syndication with WOND 1400-AM in South Jersey, the only station that gives high season weekend traffic reports at the Jersey Shore.

In a major announcement last week, GolfTalk Live announced the addition of two more affiliate stations - ESPN 1230 and ESPN 1320 in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley. The stations broadcast throughout the Lehigh Valley and into Central New Jersey and the Pocono Mountains.

As with previous years, GolfTalk Live started the year at the annual PGA Merchandise Show, broadcasting from its annual headquarters at Mystic Dunes Resort. Listeners were treated to updates from the showroom floor, as well as reports on the best new golf products. The PGA Merchandise show also sets the stage for the rest of the year-adding to the show's long list of interviews, contacts, sponsors, supporters and friends.

Since the PGA Show GolfTalk Live has held live remote broadcasts from its winter headquarters, Play-a-Round Golf in Malvern as well as bringing all the action from the Philadelphia Golf Show in Oaks. One lucky listener won an all-expenses paid golf vacation for four to Myrtle Beach, courtesy of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday.

As is the case each spring, GolfTalk Live showcases the resorts from America's Golf Town, Myrtle Beach, during a 13-week series of Myrtle Beach Reports.

When the weather heats up, it becomes time for summer at the Jersey Shore when Leodora will broadcast from many of the golf courses around South Jersey, bringing listeners the weekly "AC Reports."

The new Official Equipment Sponsor, Bridgestone Golf, joined Presenting Sponsor Norris Sales, as well as returning sponsors Conestoga Bank, Westover CC, Inside Jewelers, Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, LanConnect, Black Cat Cigars, PGN+, Mainland GC, Bella Vista GC, GolfTec, Play-a-Round Golf, Greater Atlantic City Golf Association, Sheraton Atlantic City, eRose Web and the Piazza Auto Group.

"It's hard to believe that we are beginning our 9th year," said Leodora. "I guess time flies when you are having fun ... and we are having more and more fun on the show as each year goes by. We have an outstanding group of sponsors and the greatest listening audience in the world. Each show is a great new adventure in golf."

The GolfTalk Live radio show, hosted by Tony Leodora went into syndication in 2013.  The show airs 52 weeks a year from 7 to 8 a.m. each Saturday on flagship station WNTP 990-AM in Philadelphia. It airs at different times on Saturday on the affiliate stations, plus can be heard nationally on The Golf Director network, www.thegolfdirector.com. GolfTalk Live also can be heard any time following each show on its official website, www.golftalklive.net.
