KemperSports Properties Recognized in LINKS Magazine’s Best Municipal Courses List

Three KemperSports facilities recognized in the top-10 best courses owned by municipalities

(NORTHBROOK, Ill.) – KemperSports announced today that three of its managed properties were featured in LINKS Magazine’s list of the top-10 municipal golf courses in the country. KemperSports continues to manage more top-ranked golf courses than any other management company.

The list includes Harborside International (Starboard) (10), Butterfield Trail (4) and Chambers Bay (2). Owned by Pierce County and managed by KemperSports since its inception, Chambers Bay will host the 2015 U.S. Open Championship.

"We are pleased to be able to work with these three municipally-owned facilities as well as dozens of others,” said KemperSports Chief Executive Officer Steve Skinner. “They all play a critical role in the game of golf and its future.”

The LINKS Magazine recognition comes in addition to Golfweek Magazine’s list of the top-rated municipal courses, which includes:
No. 2 – Chambers Bay – University Place, Wash.
No. 3 – Butterfield Trail – El Paso, Texas
No. 13 – Harborside International (Starboard) – Chicago, Ill.
No. 29 – Desert Willow (Firecliff) – Palm Desert, Calif.
No. 32 – Olivas Links – Ventura, Calif.
No. 47 – Harborside International (Port) – Chicago, Ill.

Chambers Bay and Butterfield Trail held at their previous year ranking at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots, respectively, while Harborside International (Starboard) jumped eight spots and Harborside International (Port) debuted on this year’s list.
