Titleist Tops Ball Count at The Barclays

It's Playoff time on the PGA Tour and the first stop for the 2014 season is Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey for The Barclays. The top-125 players in the season-long FedEx Cup points race face-off this week on the classic A.W. Tillinghast layout that has played host to many notable events including the 1935 Ryder Cup.

Stretching out to 7,501 yards and featuring fast greens, tight fairways and deep rough, the field will have to rely on precision ball striking and sound course management to help claim victory.

"It's very, very tough. It's a great golf course.  If you're hitting in the fairways, you're going to make some birdies and you're going to play the golf course very well. If you miss the fairways, it's very tough." said Pro V1x loyalist Bubba Watson. "This is U.S. Open type rough."

Bubba enters the week in 3rd place in the points race, one spot behind Titleist Brand Ambassador Jimmy Walker who spent some time surveying the greens during his practice rounds.

"Seems like the greens are going to be really fast" said Walker. "You don't want to be above the hole too much here."

And to navigate this layout successfully, players will need to have total control, trust and confidence in their golf ball.

BY THE NUMBERS: 2014 BARCLAYS
This week at The Barclays, Titleist is the overwhelming golf ball choice with 70 players in the field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success. That’s more than four times the nearest competitor with 15 and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist was also the top choice in the iron (30) and approach, sand and lob wedge (103) categories.
