Third and Fourth Stages of Commemorative Ashworth Majors Series Golf Shirts Released

Limited-Edition Apparel Pieces Honor ‘The Open Championship’ Victories of Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard

(Carlsbad, Calif.) – Ashworth Golf, the most authentic golf brand dedicated to bringing modern style to the golf course, today announced the release of the next stage of the Ashworth Majors Series, highlighted by two limited-edition golf shirts inspired by The Open Championship victories of Stewart Cink (2009) and Justin Leonard (1997).

Incorporating elements specific to each player’s major tournament win, Ashworth designers utilized premium fabrics and unique contrast threads throughout to ensure a piece distinctly representative of each player. Each shirt in the series is individually numbered inside of the placket, with the total quantity produced matching the winning player’s total score.

The fourth and fifth golf shirts in the prestigious Ashworth Major Series collection are dedicated to Stewart Cink’s dramatic playoff victory at the 138th Open Championship at Turnberry and Justin Leonard’s come from behind victory at the 126th Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club; timeless victories that placed both of them alongside some of the greatest to ever play the game.

Cink’s limited-edition piece, limited to 278 total units, features his signature embroidered inside the back neck, contrast threading and piping, the historic date of his major championship stamped on the second placket button and the unique Ashworth Majors Series patch on the right sleeve.

“Ever since I’ve started wearing Ashworth, the fit and feel have become exactly what I’m looking for in my apparel,” said Cink. “I’m truly humbled that Ashworth has created a piece honoring my major championship victory and I’m honored to wear it at The Open Championship in July.”

Leonard’s commemorative shirt is limited to 272 units, matching his winning score at The Open Championship in 1997. Including design elements similar to Cink’s golf shirt, Leonard’s limited-edition piece has his embroidered signature in the back neck, contrast threading and piping, a left chest pocket, the date of his major championship victory stamped on the second placket button and the Ashworth Majors Series patch on the right sleeve.

“Ashworth is relaxed, classic and timeless; everything I want in my apparel when I play,” said Leonard. “To have a shirt designed specifically to commemorate one of the greatest days of my career is remarkable, and I’m proud to wear it as I look to win my second major championship this summer.”

Both Cink and Leonard will wear their special-designed golf shirts during first round play at the 143rd Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

Available in limited quantities, the Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard commemorative Ashworth Majors Series golf shirts will be available exclusively at ashworthgolf.com at an MSRP of $100.
