Antigua Plays Major Role in LPGA's Upcoming International Crown

(PEORIA, AZ) - The Antigua Group, Inc. - one of the nation's leading designers and marketers of lifestyle and golf apparel under the distinguished Antigua brand - announced that it has been named lead vendor and uniform supplier of the International Crown.

The inaugural event, which takes place July 21-27, 2014 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., was recently announced by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). This first-of-its-kind, biennial, global match-play competition will feature four-player teams from eight countries battling for the right to be "crowned" the world's best golf nation. The four-day tourney features a $1.6 million purse - of which $100,000 will go to each member of the winning team.

"Our company is honored to be a part of this new biennial event," says Ron McPherson, President and CEO of Antigua. "It will feature 32 of the LPGA Tour's top players, and they'll all be wearing Antigua apparel. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our finest women's clothing on the world's top players. And it's also prime exposure for our brand. We believe we make the world's finest golf threads, and now we're paired with the planet's finest women golfers in one venue."

In 2016, Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. will host the International Crown.
