Salish Cliffs Golf Club Shows Significant Year-End Growth in Rounds, Revenue

(SHELTON, Wash.) – Salish Cliffs Golf Club (www.Salish-Cliffs.com) – the amenity course of Little Creek Casino Resort, located within an easy drive of Olympia and Seattle – realized double-digit increases in rounds played and corresponding revenue for the 2013 fiscal year.

Rounds played at the highly acclaimed Gene Bates design improved more than 22 percent, compared to National Golf Foundation 2013 numbers that show a 5.2-percent decrease, nationwide. In addition, green fees revenue at Salish Cliffs was up nearly 19 percent, and retail sales soared more than 42 percent above 2012 figures.

“It’s gratifying to see Salish Cliffs continue to buck the industry trend and achieve increases across the board,” said Head Golf Professional David Kass, PGA. “Our guests have always appreciated playing a nationally acclaimed course with top-notch conditions at an affordable rate. Our success is a true credit to the dedication and vision of Little Creek Casino Resort and the Squaxin Island Tribe.”

Owned and operated by the Squaxin Island Tribe, Salish Cliffs was honored by GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest as a “Best New Course” shortly after its 2011 opening. The awards have continued throughout the last two years as Salish Cliffs earned top-10 status in Golf Digest’s biennial “2013-14 America’s Greatest Courses” by state and Golfweek’s “Top-50 Best Casino Courses.” In October, it was named a top-100 “Best Resort Course” in America by Golfweek.

Salish Cliffs also became the first “Salmon-Safe” certified golf course in the world last year, verifying the tribe’s commitment to protect natural habitat.

Stay-and-Play packages are available and include accommodations at Little Creek Casino Resort, which in addition to offering a wide variety of gaming tables and machines, recently opened Seven Inlets Spa, Skookum Spirit Cigar & Wine Lounge and a state-of-the-art RV Park.
