Billy Casper Golf Offers Continuing Education Credits Toward Maintaining Active PGA Membership Status

(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf is now offering its employees continuing education credits toward maintaining active PGA Membership status through BCG-U, the company’s career development and training resource.

The largest domestic owner-operator of golf courses, clubs and resorts, BCG has developed 16 courses, each good for one credit under the PGA Member Service Requirement for Other Education. They include “The Fundamentals of Effective Thinking,” “Interpersonal Communications” and “Financial Statements.”

Each year, PGA Professionals must earn 54 credits to maintain active certification. The majority of required hours are related to participating in PGA meetings, and PGA education, Golf 2.0 or player development initiatives. Members can earn up to eight Other Education credits annually.

“Billy Casper Golf’s goal is to give everyone on our growing team the opportunity to expand their horizons and become even better professionals,” says Peter Hill, BCG Chairman and CEO.  “Investing in and cultivating high-level talent is integral to producing terrific results for our managed properties.”

Launched in November 2012, BCG-U is a career development portal housed on BCG’s intranet site. Unique to the golf industry, learning tools for employees include more than 100 e-learning modules, goal development, interactive progress reviews, catalog of training resources, management feedback, and customizable profiles to track professional goals and match employees with internal opportunities nationwide.

In addition to BCG-U, the company is widely respected for its cutting-edge and customized marketing technology, unique promotions and events, targeted public relations, revenue management, hiring and training platform, agronomic best practices and vendor partnerships.

The collaboration with PGA of America follows BCG’s recent merger with Kitson & Partners Clubs under the BCG name, adding 13 properties to its portfolio. It also acquired Women on Course, the nation’s premier golf-networking organization, further solidifying BCG’s commitment to grow participation in the golf lifestyle.
