Oomba Inc. to Broadcast 2013 Speedgolf World Championship Live on Oomba.tv

(IRVINE, Calif.) – Oomba Inc., a specialized social media company that is creating an interactive social network for tournaments, leagues and teams, will launch its first live event on oomba.tv, the company’s live streaming platform for sports and games, with the broadcast of the 2013 Speedgolf World Championship. Conducted by Speedgolf International, the second annual Speedgolf World Championship will be held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore., Oct. 26-27, and features the best golfers who complete a competitive round of golf in less than two hours.

As the official broadcast partner of the 2013 Speedgolf World Championship, Oomba, a California-based start-up company, will deploy its advanced oomba.tv technology to capture live tournament action in high-definition quality for golf enthusiasts worldwide. The company will also serve as the official timekeepers of the event by tracking all players’ times and calculating final scores for the event in real-time. Speedgolf scores are calculated by adding total strokes plus the total time it takes to complete the round (in minutes and seconds).

“The Speedgolf World Championship is conducted across hundreds of acres of land at one of the greatest golf resorts in the world. This presents a number of logistical challenges for traditional broadcasting and creates a unique opportunity for Oomba.tv,” said Michael Williams, CEO of Oomba Inc. “We built Oomba.tv to transcend these barriers and capture action sports and live events with ease and simplicity.”

Oomba.tv utilizes a multi-camera shoot with sophisticated HD wireless cameras that connect to the Oomba webcasting platform. The production team produces and edits the HD quality video in real-time, and broadcasts the footage to oomba.tv through an all digital cloud.

With this technology, Oomba can instantly and seamlessly broadcast high quality content to its viewers nationwide through a channel of oomba.tv. This rare, but easy-to-use broadcasting platform can be deployed for all types of events and tournaments from golf to basketball to surfing.

The 2013 Speedgolf World Championship broadcast on oomba.tv will be hosted by MLB Network Studio Host and Reporter, Scott Braun. A regular host and reporter of the MLB Network Strike Zone and Quick Pitch, Braun will provide live play-by-play commentary for the Speedgolf World Championship with color commentary from Tim Scott, executive director of Speedgolf International. Prior to working for the MLB Network, Braun worked for ESPN as a college basketball play-by-play announcer and was a studio host for CBSSports.com
