Edwin Watts Golf to Host Chain-wide 'Irons Clinic' June 8

Long & Short Iron Tips and Free Custom Fittings will be Highlighted by ARC (Advanced Robot Certified) Club Matching System

(FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.) - Edwin Watts Golf Shops, one of the world’s largest specialty golf retailers with over 90 locations, announced that June 8 will kick-off the chain-wide monthly clinic series for 2013, and the overarching theme of the special day will be improving playability with long and short irons. Golfers can visit any of the 90+ locations to participate in a breadth of activities throughout the day including golf tips and clinics for hitting better iron shots and free custom fittings featuring the ARC (Advanced Robot Certified) Club Matching System, powered by RoboFit Technology. To complement the exciting interactive activities, shoppers will enjoy great deals on clubs for the whole family, chances to win exciting prizes, and anyone who purchases a complete 8-iron set on the day of the clinic only will receive a free matching wedge.

As golf club fitting is a priority, Edwin Watts Golf store associates will utilize the Company’s in-store launch monitor and swing analysis software to conduct custom fitting sessions for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Consumers can take advantage of the new ARC Club Matching System, powered by RoboFit Technology. With the proprietary new system, Edwin Watts Golf becomes the first and only golf retailer to implement scientifically proven robot testing of golf club performance, enabling the Company to both “club match and performance fit” golfers with products that best perform to their unique swing characteristics.

The “Irons Clinic” will feature spectacular deals store-wide on the newest iron sets from leading manufacturers such as Callaway, Cleveland, TaylorMade, Adams, Wilson, Nike and more. As today’s irons are classified into three distinct categories, Blade-style (for low-handicap golfers), game-improvement (for mid-handicappers), and super game-improvement (for high-handicappers), associates from Edwin Watts Golf will be available at each location to help outfit all customers with the proper equipment that matches their unique swing characteristics. Blade-style irons allow a better player to work the ball more, while game-improvement and super game-improvement clubs are more forgiving on off-center hits.

The “Iron Clinic” is part of Edwin Watts Golf’s tune-up series, offering a new theme each month that covers an important aspect of the game. At each event, the Company’s expert staff, boasting the highest technical IQ in golf, will greet customers with unique promotions and service offerings, ensuring all golfers are well-equipped for the season. Representatives from leading equipment manufacturers will be on-site at select locations to participate in these one-day events, as golfers can have their equipment tuned-up, participate in clinics and swing analysis, experience free performance club fitting sessions and other in-store service offerings. As part of the festivities, golfers of all ages and skill levels can register to win valuable prizes, including an 8-iron set of clubs (steel shaft).

“The tune-up series will ensure that golfers of all skill levels are armed with the proper equipment to optimize their performance,” said John Watson, CEO, Edwin Watts Golf Shops. “Irons should match one another, as should their shafts, so a golfer can experience the most consistent feel, performance and distance gapping from one to the next.”
