Billy Casper Golf Selected to Manage The Golf Club at Ravenna

Buffalo Communications Adds Marketing Strength with Real Estate-Centric Publicity Program

(VIENNA, VA.) – Billy Casper Golf – the largest domestic owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has been selected by developer River Canyon Real Estate Investments, LLC to manage The Golf Club at Ravenna in Littleton, Colo., less than 30 minutes southwest of Denver.

For Ravenna, BCG has assumed turnkey management of the private golf operation, including course and property maintenance, marketing, membership sales, staffing and training, merchandising, restaurant and banquet activities, special events, golf instruction and financial management.

Buffalo Communications, the public relations division of BCG, has also been tapped to create and execute a golf and residential real-estate publicity and media-relations program for the luxury, gated community. The firm will position Ravenna editorially in the Denver and upscale lifestyle markets, and provide brand marketing consultation.

“Billy Casper Golf’s management philosophy aligns perfectly with our vision for this golf community,” says Glenn Jacks, Managing Member of River Canyon Real Estate Investments, owner of Ravenna. “Given the stability in the market and a recent resurgence in real estate, we are excited to count them among our team.”

The club has officially opened for the 2013 season, with excellent playing conditions reported on the Jay Morrish-designed golf course. Billy Casper, Masters and two-time U.S. Open champion, greeted members and guests at a private gathering on the Ravenna property last week.

Trial memberships have been extended to qualified individuals this spring, providing two-month unlimited access to the golf course, clubhouse dining and member events.  Information can be obtained from Amy Rome, membership sales director, at 866.255.6680.

Interest in Ravenna’s 243-lot real estate options has also spiked in recent months, reports Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty listing broker, Dale Schossow.  In a market with shrinking inventory for custom home lots within gated communities, the property’s unobstructed views of the Denver skyline, red-rock outcroppings and untamed natural landscape adjacent to Pike National Forest are key selling features.

Home sites are priced from the $200,000s and custom homes, carrying old-world Mediterranean elements for which the community was named, start at $1.2 million.

Playing from 5,009 to 7,263 yards, the signature golf course is the centerpiece of the Ravenna enclave.  Its large undulating greens and array of shot choices appeal to low and high-handicap golfers. The design strategy helped it earn “Best New Course” by Golf Digest and Golfweek upon opening in 2006 and a top-50 “Best Residential Courses” ranking by Golfweek.

An extensive practice facility includes a 315-yard driving range with seven target bunkers, a large two-tier putting green and short-game area with three practice bunkers.

“With a stunning mountain setting, excellent golf-course conditions and terrific sense of community, Ravenna is poised for success,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “Our mandate is to leave no stone unturned, so members feel a vibrant sense of activity and belonging.”

BCG will enact its proprietary “BCGreen” initiative at the course to conserve, protect and enhance the environment, and enroll the course in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program. The result is increased efficiencies in maintenance, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
