Tour Stars Seeking 62nd Major Victory for Wilson Staff

Three accomplished stars will represent Wilson Staff at Augusta this week

(CHICAGO) – Padraig Harrington, Paul Lawrie and Kevin Streelman will compete with Wilson Staff equipment in the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club this week.

Padraig Harrington
Padraig Harrington captured three major championships in two years: the Open Championship in 2007 and 2008 and the PGA Championship in 2008. Last year, he had top ten finishes at the Masters and the US Open, and won the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda. This season, he has had two top ten finishes on both the European and PGA Tours. Feeling optimistic after his T10 finish at the Valero Texas Open, he is in search of his first Green Jacket.

In his Wilson Staff Pro Tour golf bag, Harrington will carry the FG Tour V2 Irons (5-PW), the FG Tour TC 50 and 54 Wedges, the 18° D-100 Fairway Wood and the 22° DXi Hybrid.

Paul Lawrie joined the Wilson Staff brand in 1999. His career then soared when he won the 1999 Qatar Masters (which he also triumphed in 2012 after rejoining the Wilson Advisory Staff in 2010) and the 1999 Open Championship. There he made the biggest comeback in major history after starting the round ten strokes out of the lead and winning in a four-hole playoff. Lawrie is the last Scot to win a major, and until 2007 he was the last European to win a major – a drought ended by Harrington. Last year, Lawrie’s game again resurged with a triumph at the Johnnie Walker Championship, a stunning final match play round contributing to the European Ryder Cup victory and a leap to 27th place in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Lawrie’s Wilson Staff Pro Tour bag contains the FG Tour Irons (3-PW), the FG Tour TC 52 and 58 Wedges and the 22° D-100 Hybrid.

Three weeks ago, Kevin Streelman’s first victory in 153 PGA Tour starts at the Tampa Bay Championship gripped golf fans everywhere as a feel-good story. Placing him in 12th place on the PGA Tour Money Leader List, Streelman took a break from tournament play to concentrate solely on his Masters preparation. In his basement, he hung his first Masters invitation from 2011 framed with an empty frame next to it for motivation.

Streelman dominates with his Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 Irons (4-9), Ci11 3-Iron, FG Tour TC 48 and 54 Wedges and brands himself with the Wilson Staff Pro Tour golf bag and cap.

These Tour stars all appear together in Wilson Staff’s newest “Guy Johnson” commercials featuring the Same Effort. Greater Results campaign for the new D-100 family of clubs. Currently reeling on Golf Channel and local NBC markets, these advertisements can be viewed at www.youtube.com/wilsongolftv.

“We have been especially fortunate with the recent level of performance and investment in the Wilson Staff brand by these ambassadors,” commented General Manager Tim Clarke. “They come to commercial shoots ready to act, provide meaningful feedback on prototype development and carry themselves with class in tournaments. Each one of them deserves a Masters win. ‘Seriously. Game on, boys.’”
