Longaberger Golf Club Named Best in Ohio by Golfweek

(NASHPORT, Ohio) – Longaberger Golf Club, managed by Billy Casper Golf – the largest domestic owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts – is once again Ohio’s top public golf course in Golfweek’s 2013 Best-in-State rankings.

Situated near Columbus, Longaberger has ranked first in Golfweek every year since its 1999 opening. Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine and LINKS consistently laud the course’s blend of playability and challenge.

Longaberger scored exceptionally high marks from Golfweek raters for its intimate routing, turf quality, natural setting, true-rolling greens, and variety and memorability of holes.

"When it opened Longaberger set the standard on the American golf scene for its emphasis on quality design, maintenance and service,” says Brad Klein, architectural editor at Golfweek. “Small wonder it has consistently presided at the head of the list of Ohio's best public access courses."

The 7,243-yard, Arthur-Hills course features fairways meandering along creek beds, and panoramic views from elevated tees on several holes. The club includes an extensive practice area where Get Golf Ready, Golf Fore Women and junior schools are conducted.

“Dramatic holes, pristine conditions and personable service place Longaberger among the nation’s elite,” says Danny Ackerman, general manager of Longaberger Golf Club.  “The nod from Golfweek is a credit to our team.”

Recognized as one of the best golf values in the Midwest, Longaberger stay-and-play packages start at $138 for two rounds of golf and room at the recently opened Newark Metropolitan Hotel. Green fees start at $59.

The stately 60,000-square-foot clubhouse contains a casual restaurant, award-winning pro shop and banquet facilities for corporate outings and events.
