Slammin’ Sam Beer Celebrates Florida Launch with Exclusive World Golf Hall of Fame Event Honoring Sam Snead

(PINEHURST, NC) – Slammin’ Sam Beer Company – maker of Slammin’ Sam, the Smoothest Beer in Golf – announces an exclusive event featuring special guest Sam Snead, Jr. and a complimentary tasting December 7 (5-7pm) in Shell Hall at the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum in St. Augustine, FL.

The evening will officially launch the craft-brewed premium American lager in the state of Florida. Snead Jr., known as Jack, will be on hand to share stories about his father, the Hall of Fame member who captured seven professional major championships and an all-time record 82 PGA Tour titles.
Event admission is free, but registration is required in advance at WorldGolfHallofFame.org.

“Dad would cherish seeing golfers sipping a Slammin’ Sam on the Slammer & Squire, a course he helped design here at the World Golf Village,” says Sam Snead, Jr. “I’m looking forward to toasting his memory at the World Golf Hall of Fame during an event that celebrates his history and honors his name.”

Inspired by Sam Snead, one of golf’s greatest gentlemen and champions, Slammin’ Sam was created specifically to quench the palates of discerning golfers and active lifestyle consumers. The World Golf Hall of Fame, to which Snead was inducted in 1974, is located within the World Golf Village Resort – the debut Florida location to join the rapidly expanding list of premier facilities serving Slammin’ Sam.

“I can’t think of a more appropriate place to introduce Slammin’ Sam beer to the State of Florida than the World Golf Hall of Fame,” says Casey Bierer, Founder and CEO of Slammin’ Sam Beer Company and a former producer-reporter with Golf Channel. “When you think of everything Sam Snead accomplished in his career, and how beautifully the Hall of Fame presents those accomplishments, well, it’s just an honor and privilege for us.”

Slammin’ Sam boasts a slightly mellow flavor, delicious taste and exceptionally balanced finish. In addition to World Golf Village Resort, top-tier golf destinations serving it in bottles and cans include Pinehurst, The Greenbrier, The Homestead and select Sam Snead’s Tavern locations, as well as additional resorts, golf courses, restaurants, bars and grocery stores throughout North America.

Made in Wisconsin by Stevens Point Brewery – a World Beer Cup multiple Gold Medal award winner – Slammin’ Sam showcases a proprietary recipe developed by Ray Klimovitz, recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Life Service Award from the Master Brewers Association of the Americas. The line’s packaging and marketing materials depict vintage Snead images from the 1950s and 60s.

Possessor of a prodigious, self-taught swing, Snead professional career spanned six decades. A player on seven and captain of three U.S. Ryder Cup teams, his countless honors include winning PGA Player of the Year (1949) and the Vardon Trophy (1938, ’49, ’50 and ’55). Snead, who passed away in 2002 at age 89, is also a member of the West Virginia Golf Hall of Fame.
