Titleist is Top Choice Tee-to-Green at 2012 U.S. Amateur

More Players Trust Titleist At Summer’s USGA Amateur Championships

(Fairhaven, MA) – From the Masters Tournament to the U.S. Amateur Championship, when a major trophy was on the line this season, the overwhelming majority of players at every level of the game trusted their performance to Titleist golf balls.

At the 2012 U.S. Amateur played last week at Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado, 258 of the game's top amateurs (over 82 percent of the 312-player field) relied on Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls for their success. That's more than nine times the nearest competitor with 27 and more than four times all competitors combined.

The U.S. Amateur provides further proof that tournament time is Titleist time for professional and amateur golfers alike – from the PGA Tour and worldwide pro tours, to the PGA Professional National Championship and all levels of competitive amateur golf.

At the six USGA Amateur Championships played over the last two months – the boys' and girls' U.S. Juniors, men's and women's U.S. Public Links Championships and men's and women's U.S. Amateurs – a combined total of 879 players chose the unmatched performance and consistency of Titleist golf balls, as compared to 86 for the nearest competitor.

At the U.S. Amateur, in addition to being the top choice in golf balls, Titleist was also the tee-to-green favorite across ever major golf club category, including: drivers (98); fairway metals and hybrids (200); iron sets (116); approach, sand and lob wedges (387); and putters (128).
