TaylorMade Golf’s ATV Wedge Available Now

Tour-Validated ATV Wedge Features Innovative Sole Design to Help Players Easily Execute a Wide Variety of Shots

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Making its PGA Tour debut in January and already in the bags of numerous Tour professionals, including World No. 10 Justin Rose, the TaylorMade Golf ATV (All-Terrain Versatility) wedge is now available at retail in the United States.

The product of years of research and development and extensive player testing, the ATV wedge is engineered to offer an effective yet simple approach to wedge play. TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Rose started fast out of the gate this year with three top-10 finishes, including a win at the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral, with an ATV 52° wedge and 56° wedge in his bag.

The ATV wedge’s versatility comes from a unique sole design of which every curve, angle and edge serves a purpose in elevating the club’s versatility. Relief at the toe, heel and trailing edge reduces resistance and significantly changes how the sole reacts with turf and sand, depending on how the club is positioned at address and how much the face is opened. Each ATV wedge sole varies slightly, depending on the loft.

“Now that the best players in the world know how well the ATV wedge performs, we’re especially excited for consumers to get their hands on what we believe to be the most versatile wedge in golf,” said Brian Bazzel, product marketing manager for putters and wedges. “With its unique sole design, we believe golfers of all abilities will be able to execute shots and manage lies they never thought possible.”

ATV wedges aren’t labeled with a bounce number because the ATV wedge’s sole takes on different bounce angles depending on the type of shot the golfer is hitting, the bounce altered by the position of the golfer’s hands in relation to the clubhead, and depending on whether the face is square or to what degree it is open.

Other highlights of the ATV wedge include a new groove design created by TaylorMade’s research and development team that generates nearly as much spin as its previous highest-spinning groove, as well as micro-textured flat areas between the grooves of the ATV wedge clubface.

The ATV is available in seven lofts (50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58, 60°, 64°) with a non-glare, white IP finish. Equipped with Lamkin’s new wedge grip that extends further down the shaft to promote more control when choking down the shaft. The ATV wedge retails for $119.
