Product Review: Tifosi Seek FC

You’ve got a 10-foot putt on the 18th hole to win a match. Everything is perfect. You’ve read the green and are brimming with confidence. You take the putter back smoothly and are just about to strike the ball when ... the sweat - from heat and pressure - makes your sunglasses slip.
If you’re one of an ever-growing number of golfers who sport shades on the course, you’ve probably been in a similar situation, whether the scenario was as dramatic or merely routine. You’re going to sweat and sweat leads to difficult moments.
At Tifosi, the designers have addressed this issue in sunglasses across their product line. You see, the company is so much more than just golf, though it does that extremely well. Tifosi provides performance eyewear for everything from tennis and water sports, to cycling and running.
In particular, the Seek FC features a new nose pad design for greater fit range, hydrophilic rubber on the nose pad and at the temples for better grip and less slipping, and adjustable in both spots for custom fit.
According to Tifosi, the company designs, tests and tortures their products to enhance sports, whether you’re running a 5k, riding your first century or playing 18 holes on Sunday. Considering the abuse golfers subject their equipment to while demanding the best performance, it’s nice to know these glasses have stood up to the worst.
Technical jargon: The Seek FC are made of a homopolyamide nylon characterized by an extremely high alternative bending strength, low density and high resistance to chemical and UV damage. The company offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects, too.
This model is a rimless design for increased field of vision and boasts one of the largest coverage lenses offered. That said, they weight only 26 grams. Light.
Retailing for between $49.95 and $69.95, American Golfer recommends the Seek FC for any golfer on your holiday gift list. Check out www.tifosioptics.com and you’ll likely find gift ideas for the runner, fisherman, cyclist, etc., on your shopping list as well.
