Longaberger Golf Club Jumps 42 Spots in Golf Digest Best Public Courses List

(NASHPORT, Ohio) – Longaberger Golf Club, made the most dramatic climb of any course in Golf Digest’s biennial “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” list, catapulting from 98th to 56th in the 2011-2012 national rankings.

Managed by Billy Casper Golf, Longaberger was the only course in Ohio on the 100 Greatest Public Courses list, holding a longstanding top position in the state. The complete list appears in the May 2011 edition of the publication, released this week.

“We are gratified that Golf Digest raters judged Longaberger one of the best courses in the country,” says Danny Ackerman, general manager of Longaberger Golf Club. “We pride ourselves on offering a challenging, beautiful, fair and fun golf course, a welcoming experience – on and off the course – and delivering exceptional customer service.”

This honor is one of many accolades awarded the course since opening in 1999. The Arthur Hills layout, located less than an hour from Columbus, was also named to Golfweek’s “2011 Best Courses You Can Play” list released in March.

It was named best golf course in Ohio on the publication’s state-by-state listing, a position it has retained for several years.

In late 2010, Golf Magazine noted Longaberger as “Worth Your Money” in its annual national Top 100 course ranking.

Greens fees are $64 through mid-May; stay-and-play rates start at $163 per person with two rounds and an overnight stay.
