OnCore Golf Supports Journey to Play 50 Rounds of Golf in 50 Days in 50 States

(Buffalo, New York)
–  OnCore Golf will host Clayton Phillips on September 11, 2021 at Glen Oak Golf Club as he continues his quest to play 50 rounds of golf in 50 days in 50 states. Buffalo will mark Phillips’ nineteenth stop on his way to his 50th in San Diego, Ca, already accomplishing rounds of golf in Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania!

Clayton’s initiative is to raise funds for two organizations – Water1st International and Covenant World Relief – Project Blue – who provide clean water to areas of the globe that do not have access and infrastructure. The critical role of clean water in health, sanitation, and quality of life has inspired Phillips to undertake this challenge and raise both awareness and funds to help address the issue.  His golf expedition is personally funded and 100% of all donations raised are donated to both organizations.

During Phillips’ round in Buffalo, he will be joined by ultra-marathoner George Chmiel, and a group of veterans from the WNY PGA HOPE sector, who utilize the game of golf as an outlet to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.  Chmiel has been active in veterans’ causes and will be sharing his stories following the golf outing at Glen Oak.

“When we learned that Clayton Phillips’ journey had him stopping into Buffalo, NY on September 11th, we were thrilled with the opportunity it presented to highlight these important causes on what is an important anniversary in our country’s history.  As our community knows, OnCore Golf is a major supporter of our veterans locally, nationally and internationally,” states Keith Blakely, CEO. “There is a real synergy here as we continue to pay tribute to our U.S heroes who dedicate themselves and give so much to protect our nation and our freedom while also bringing attention to another crisis – clean water –  that challenges far too many people around the globe.”
